The new second-generation Renault Kadjar is set to launch later in 2021 and will boast an innovative new design with new technological features added.

The automotive industry first met the current Kadjar in 2015, with a small design overhaul in 2018. Its newer model looks to adopt a more angular shape than its previous design - particularly visible in the front end with ‘lobster claw’ headlights which echo the Clio, Captur and Megane models.

The same modular CMF-C platform as the next-generation Nissan Qashqai and Mitsubishi Outlander will underpin the SUV- all set to be released within the next year. Renault will be able to offer consumers mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains due to the flexibility of this architecture.

The new generation Renault Kadjar will grow to be 177 inches long and will still be recognisable thanks to the unique designs. The new C-Shape style is similar to the Renault Captur, but the Kadjar is considered much broader than Renault’s other SUVs.

Cabin Design and Tech

The new Renault Kadjar will remain a two-row seated SUV that will provide comfortable and roomy interiors which will be enough space for five people. A few engine options will be available to choose from- some refreshed from previous models and some breakout engines. However, what could be most exciting is the HEV Hybrid E Tech version, which provides 130 or 140 horses, as well as a PHEV version. This plug-in hybrid model is set to delivery 230 horses with its all-wheel-drive system.

The boot is set to have a 472-litre capacity- expandable thanks to the folding backrests. When folded down, the maximum boot capacity will have a maximum volume of almost 1,500 litres. Buyers will be able to choose from either diesel or petrol engines- the highly popular 1.3 TCe petrol engine which also powers the all-new Clio model will also be available with two configurations.

Other notable changes for the all-new Renault Kadjar are the inclusion of technological boosts also found in some of Renault’s latest models and a much wonder selection of powertrains to choose from. It is set to abandon the dashboard incorporated infotainment system in favour of a tablet-style system that juts out. In addition, the new Renault Kadjar will include new ambient lighting and higher-end options for their trims.

Release Date

The highly anticipated 2021 Renault Kadjar has undergone significant redesigns and will share some of the same CMF-C modular platforms as the Nissan Qashqai, with a number of novelty features under the hood. It is set to debut in the early months of 2021.
